Welcome to Postcards from Pembrokeshire (95/365)
Today’s Postcard: Field above the sea
Two dogs in tow for a freshner first thing this morning, Watson in charge and Alfie tagging along. Cold, no sun, two dogs following vastly different agendas on separate leads like a spoof crime thriller.
Weird afternoon light from the path in the woods by Hean Castle: a copse of trees in cool blues lit by a late sun for a few minutes. Poor choice of clothing induced by an extended Indian Summer, I’m old enough to know better.
Paint: (on my Ritec Red homemade earth paint): firstly a Permanent Mauve for under the trees, the far hedge and the shadow on the field. Light Pink for the rest of the field, and also LP with Naples Yellow and Chrome Orange for the leaves but woven around and about with a Kings Blue Pale and Phthalocyanine Blue mix. Grasses of KBP and Naples Yellow; sky of Lpink., KBP and Titanium White sploged in a merry dance around each other.
Brush: Sizes 1 and 2 filbert (hog); Size 1 round (synthetic).
Hope you like the painting,
Watson Jones: Cairn terrier, 3 yrs old, food exec, head waiter;
Alfie: young Cavachon dog made from quilts and flannels, occasional lodger; snap not chess.
