Welcome to Postcards from Pembrokeshire (277/365)
Today’s Postcard: Wreck, Lawrenny
It’s a Friday evening: sun and supper about to be taken on the beach so here’s a painting from an earlier (homeward-ish) visit to Lawrenny, western light and a timeless old hulk. It’s been there since I was a boy on a bike getting lost trying to find Coedcanlas (which, after we’d moved the roadsigns we would never find again…). So here we are:
Paint: (on my Ritec Red homemade earthy paint): a thin scrub of Ivory Black upon which the Cadmium and Sap Greens were added (the hull); same for the trees on the far side; Kings Blue Pale bleached with Titanium White for the sky and the tide.
Brush: Size 4 filbert (hog); sizes 00 and 2 round (synthetic).
Hwyl, hope you like the painting, happy weekend,
