Welcome to Postcards from Pembrokeshire (53/365)
Today’s Postcard: Hedge on a hill, Pentregalar
In the cool early light I drove my ‚62 Morris through, up and over the Preselis. On the left just after a quarry is a field. Well, of course there are several but there is one in particular which is skirted by a scruffy bank and small briars: just gorse and blackthorn but sort of heroic in an anti-hero sort of a way. And they have a dusty vibrancy, a bluey shimmer that I tried to memorise at a hefty 47mph.
Paint (on my homemade Ritec Red ground paint): Simple: Lapis Lazuli, Phthalocyanine Blue tinted with Zinc White (pre-mixed); Prussian Blue, Kings Blue Light.
Brush: Size 2 filbert (hog, bit scraggly); Size 1 round (synthetic).
Hope you like the painting, happy weekend,
