Welcome to Postcards from Pembrokeshire (263/365)
Today’s Postcard: From a lane in Summerhill
I know some parts of Pembrokeshire as well as I know the back of my hand or the list of jobs to do in the garden. And then I find a lane that I’ve never been on only five minutes’ drive from home. This is a wandering, undulating single track lane between Summerhill (is there a better sounding place in English?) and Stepaside. From a gate one can gaze across towards Monkstone Point and Caldey beyond, and, on a clear day Lundy I think. But then if you can see Lundy it’s going to rain and if you can’t….
Paint: (on my Ritec Red homemade earthy paint): I hope that Kings Blues Deep and Pale keep featuring in my palette until the end of September. And Titanium White here and there in the sky too; Viridian and Prussian Blue for the dark shadows amongst the trees; Cadmium Green Pale with some Naples Yellow and/or Lemon Yellow and Titanium White for the lighter bits in the new leaves.
Brush: Sizes 6 filbert (hog); size 6 round (synthetic).
I hope that you like the painting,
