Welcome to Postcards from Pembrokeshire (103/365)
Today’s Postcard: Morning sun towards Lydstep
All things bright and beautiful. Cold and clear as a spring lettuce, birds of the air and beasts of the woods all preening themselves in the sun. I went for a wander (after returning a very happy and leaf-stuck WJ back to his nest) and followed the sun’s rays west towards Lamphey on the old Ridgeway. Two ravens barked up in the high heavens whilst a pair of buzzards mewed in spirals above the fields.
Paint: (on my Ritec Red homemade earth paint): sea and sky of Titanium White, kings Blue Pale and Cerulean Blue; cliff of Permanent Mauve and KB Pale before a tiny tickle of Naples Yellow on top. Fields of Cadmium Blue Pale and Naples Yellow, trees of Sap Green on top of the P Mauve, grasses a combo of all of the above tinted with T. White once more.
Brush: Size 2 filbert (hog); Size 1 round (synthetic).
Hope you like the painting,
Cast: WJ (Watson Jones our 3 y.o. dark cairn terrier): tree fella, wood worker, Ray Bans rep.
