Welcome to Postcards from Pembrokeshire (357/365)
Today’s Postcard: Rosebush from Trinant
Off the quietly dramatic road from Haverfordwest through the Preselis lies Trinant: three streams yn saesneg, lots of long views of soft ochres and peachy grasses; ravens and kites, stones dropped by giants and pools full of gwragedd annwn and gwyllion from faerie worlds. WJ thinks I’ve been chopping weird funghi. I said he was found in a seaweed coracle off Cantre’r Gwaelod, he reckoned it was a legit ferry crossing.
Paint: (on my Colby Bank homemade earthy paint): the Yellow Ochre-y ground paint helps here, with subtle greens such as Oxide of Chromium and Terre Verte; Lught Pink and Kings Blue in the sky and on the tops of rocks.
Brush: Sizes 1 and 2 round (synthetic).
Ps I will be giving a talk about the painting project this Friday 11th in Tenby Museum: 01834 842809 if you have nothing better to do of course….
