Welcome to Postcards from Pembrokeshire (352/365)
Today’s Postcard: A jay’s feather
I found this tiny feather a while ago. It was in the woods behind our garden but nowhere near an oak tree, the jay’s spiritual home. It shone like a dropped brooch on the edge of a puddle, a shard of blue sky in the mud.
Paint: (on my Ritec Red homemade earthy paint): Phthalo Turquoise, Kings Blue Pale and Ultramarine; Raw Umber and Ivory Black, lots of Titanium White.
Brush: Size 4 filbert; size 2 round (both synthetic).
Hwyl, hope you like the painting,
Jay; geai de chêne; sgrech y coed (my favourite name of the three by far).
