Welcome to Postcards from Pembrokeshire (179/365)
Today’s Postcard: After midnight near Saundersfoot
I have thought about painting the moon on the water for quite a while now, but it was the dog needing to pop outside (in the small hours, I ask you) that provided the nudge. To be fair he did remind me to pick up my camera as we left the house so he does have his uses. Anyway it was a brief trip that produced a couple of (blurred) snaps, a very cold neck, nose, set of knuckles…the dog is made of sterner stuff and fancied tilting his lance at a tree stump. I think he needs spectacles.
Paint: (on my Ritec Red homemade earth paint): I tried to keep this as simple as possible: Kings Blue Pale, Titanium White and Ivory Black. Not too much contact with the brush, not too much paint on the brush, not too much faffing. I reminded myself of this after my third go….
Brush: Size 6 flat (bristle); size 2 round (synthetic).
Hope you like the painting, enjoy the snow moon tonight,
Watson Jones: cairn terrier: nightwatchman, owl ogler, shadow sniffer. Irrigation unit.
